OUR MISSION

EgleGirls ignites change for the women and girls of World.

We advance laws, promote women in politics, fight for reproductive justice, challenge discrimination and violence against women

Mission Statement: EGLE (Every Girl Leaves Empowered) is an organization whose mission is to ensure that every single Liberian girl affected by sexual violence of any kind receives free trauma resolution counseling so that she can feel confident in herself and empowered to contribute to society at large.

Scripture: Isaiah 57:18-19 “I have seen their ways, and I will heal them; I will lead them and give comfort to them and to those who mourn for them-I will create the right words.” (CJB)

Goal: To facilitate trauma healing for Liberian girls affected by sexual violence.

Objective: For the girls to receive counseling, they meet once a week via zoom with a counselor for individual sessions and there is also an opportunity for them to attend a trauma resolution camp once a year. This way more girls can receive resolution in a shorter time frame. This camp is to facilitate the healing process as girls get to share their experiences with one another in a safe environment with professional and trained counselors running the groups. Group counseling helps members see who is doing better for inspiration, and it also helps some people find comfort knowing that they’re not alone. Through group processing EGLE girls gain greater self-awareness, find new perspectives as relate to the trauma, and experience hope for the future.

Enrollment: Registration takes place 3 times per year (December, April, and August). Each girl attends session weekly until her trauma is resolved. There is usually a waitlist for those interested.
